As part of our Membership Spotlight feature we recently spoke to Kevin Dunne from Dunne Brothers Property about doing business in Drogheda .Read what Kevin had to say.
Q. Tell us about your business and what you do.
Hi, my name is Kevin Dunne, Owner and Founder of Dunne Brothers Property.
I am 32 years old and grew up in the Slane countryside. I have had a strong connection with Drogheda since attending St. Mary's Diocesan School in 2007, and the town has become a huge part of my life, following in the footsteps of previous generations of my family.
Dunne Brothers Property is a residential and commercial estate agency together with a bespoke property management company based here in Drogheda, Co. Louth. Our office is located above the popular Coffee Box café in George's Square, and we are always happy to welcome anyone for a coffee and a chat about property, whether they're buying, selling, investing or simply looking for advice.
The company was established in 2024, although my journey in property began several years earlier while working with the fantastic team at R. B. Daly Estate Agents in Drogheda, where I specialised in both commercial and residential property. During that time, I completed my estate agency qualification, gained invaluable experience and built the confidence to establish my own business.
While my original plan was to grow a traditional estate agency, I quickly recognised an increasing demand for alternative accommodation solutions and professionally managed property services. As the rental market continues to evolve, many property owners are looking for greater certainty, flexibility and peace of mind, while at the same time there is significant demand for quality accommodation throughout Drogheda and the surrounding areas.
Our role is to bridge that gap.
We work closely with property owners to provide professionally managed accommodation solutions that reduce much of the stress associated with renting while creating high-quality homes for working professionals and people who contribute to our local community.
For property owners, our focus is on delivering:
• Professionally managed properties
• Flexible solutions tailored to individual circumstances
• Transparent communication
• Long-term trusted relationships
• A hands-off ownership experience with ongoing support
For residents, we focus on providing accommodation that is well managed, well maintained and designed to create a comfortable and respectful living environment.
Our aim is simple: to help property owners make the most of their investment while increasing the supply of quality accommodation for people living and working in Drogheda.
Over the past two years we have grown rapidly through strong relationships, excellent service and recommendations from existing clients. Many of our clients have trusted us with additional properties, which is something I am incredibly proud of. Those long-term relationships have been one of the biggest contributors to our growth.
We take enormous pride in delivering a professional service built on trust, communication and reliability, and we genuinely believe we are only at the beginning of our journey.
We currently manage a portfolio of property worth over 5 million euro and I’ve been heavily involved in over 50 million worth of commercial and residential property deals over recent years as an estate agent and practicing estate agent.

Q. What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
Growing a business from the ground up and building a portfolio approaching 100 bedrooms within just two years is something I'm extremely proud of.
However, for me, the biggest achievement isn't simply the number of properties we manage. It's building a fantastic team, learning to delegate effectively and creating systems that allow the business to continue improving every day while maintaining a high level of customer service.
One of the most rewarding aspects has been seeing existing clients come back to us with second and third properties because they trust the service we provide. That level of confidence means more to me than any growth figure.
We're continuing to build towards managing more than 100 bespoke accommodation units in 2027, but we're equally focused on continually improving our standards and the experience we provide to both property owners and residents.
Every day is a learning day. I enjoy surrounding myself with people who inspire me, challenge me and encourage me to think bigger. Although I'm proud of what we've achieved, I genuinely believe we're only getting started.
We were delighted to be a finalist in the Pat Slattery "Make it happen" European property Business Awards in 2025 and Finalist in the Best New Startup in the Northeast Business Awards 2025.

Q. What is the best piece of business advice you've ever been given?
There are four pieces of advice that have had the biggest impact on me:
• Bite off more than you can chew, then learn how to chew it.
• Your network is your net worth.
• Don't wait until everything is perfect before you grow. Improve as you go.
• Focus on sales. Every day is an opportunity to build new relationships.
No matter what business you're in, sales are the engine that drives everything else.
When I started one of my first businesses back when I was 21, a local advertising newspaper called the Drogheda Advertiser, I put on a suit, got a prototype and a similar noncompeting sample and knocked on doors across the town to find out whether there was a market before investing heavily.
Those conversations and calls resulted in thousands of euro in deposits and pre-orders, which helped launch the business and ultimately introduced me to many of the people who later played a role in my property career and one who got me started in it as well. That experience taught me that people buy from people, and everyone is on their own journey. When you genuinely help others, they're far more likely to give you an opportunity. When they do, work hard to earn and reward their trust. Don't be afraid of hearing the word "no." Every objection is a chance to learn, improve, and
become better.
As your business grows, learn to delegate, focus on the areas where you create the greatest value and never stop learning. Finding a mentor is one of the best investments you can make. Having someone who challenges you, keeps you accountable and shares their experience can accelerate your growth enormously.
I don't believe there is only one path to success. University is the right choice for many people, while entrepreneurship is another route for those with the determination to create something of their own.
For me, the most important quality any entrepreneur can possess is hunger. If you're willing to work hard, keep learning and stay resilient, amazing things are possible.
The joy isn't found at the destination; it's found throughout the journey.
I'd like to thank the Drogheda & District Chamber for the support they've given both me and so many other local businesses. Building a business can sometimes feel like a lonely journey, and having an organisation that brings local businesses together is incredibly valuable.
If you've been considering joining the Chamber, I would highly recommend it. The relationships, knowledge and opportunities are well worth it.
