Best Of The Boyne Green Award - the T.L.T

When recycling is done well, everyone benefits. So, it was really special to meet up with like-minded people at our latest Best of the Boyne Green Awards presentation, in association with Oxigen Environmental.

Founded in 1988 and providing complete waste management solutions for homes and businesses across Ireland, Oxigen is the proud partner for our environmental awards that recognise local firms, clubs and people who are going the extra mile for our planet.

The latest winners are the TLT for their commitment to recycling plastic bottles, gathered from patrons at their host of top class events.

The funds raised go to a range of good causes, including the Drogheda Dolls, SOSAD, Remember Us, the hospice, DAR, Boyne Fishermen and Epilepsy Ireland. The project has raised thousands of euro so far.

“We have to thank Oxigen Environmental and their team for getting behind these awards from the very start. They have recognised everything from schools taking part in tidy towns efforts to sports clubs going green and local honey producers,” chamber CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.

“The TLT bottle scheme has delivered vital funds for great organisations and fair play to the many thousands of people who go along to the shows and play their part in this incredible idea.”

The project has already produced ample supplies of honey and it has proved very popular.
The initiative forms part of Drogheda Port Company’s wider corporate social responsibility strategy, which places a strong focus on environmental projects that support the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and demonstrate how ports can grow sustainably while enhancing their natural surroundings.
“Once again, it’s great to be backing a local project that is doing so much for the environment. Oxigen Environmental have been great supporters of this series since we launched it last year and we can’t wait to honour more people, firms and groups in the coming months,” chamber CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.
