Drogheda and District Chamber and Oxigen Environmental and Orange Skip Hire have teamed up to launch a new sustainability series entitled ‘Best of the Boyne’ Green Awards.

The aim is to recognise businesses, groups, clubs, schools, individuals and others who play their part in making the world a more sustainable place.
The awards seek to encourage businesses to adopt greener practices, raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and create a platform for networking and knowledge-sharing within the greater Boyne Valley region. As well as providing public recognition for those leading in environmental stewardship and sustainability.
The awards will recognise those who lead the way in innovation but also highlight the actions of those who champion waste reduction, preserve local wildlife and ecosystems, acknowledge programmes that involve local communities in sustainability initiatives and recognise educational facilities that inspire awareness and progress an ethos of sustainability.
“Oxigen Environmental and Orange Skip Hire are really established brands, and we are delighted to be working with them on this exciting new project for the chamber,” CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.
“Raising the issue of sustainability is something we must all do, and these awards will not only do that, but reward those that go the extra mile to play their part. I think we are going to have some amazing recipients.”
Oxigen Environmental Manager, John Doyle said, ““We are thrilled to be working with Drogheda and District Chamber on this project. It gives us a chance to take part and to give back to businesses in our community. Oxigen is dedicated to sustainable practices and working towards Ireland's Circular Economy and Climate Action Plan targets, so we are looking forward to recognising other businesses and organisations who are committed to similar goals.”
