Widely associated with the county, St Brigiid's Day is enshrined in folklore and next year will be taking on a new dimension.

Louth County Councill has come on board to assist with a number of special events to mark the occasion.

"The festival opens on January 26 and runs through to the festival at Faughart on February 5th. There will be a number of events in the library in Drogheda and business owners are invited to be part of a retail window decoration scheme as part of the celebrations,' Chamber President Hubert
Murphy stated. He attended the launch event with Trevor Connolly, CEO Drogheda BID.
