Drogheda, the M1 Corridor and UK links are now firmly in focus, thanks to the town’s attitude of ‘Team Drogheda’ – delivering again in the incredible surroundings of the Coca-Cola HBC offices at Southgate Shopping Centre.

The Mill Enterprise Hub and Skillnet Innovation Exchange delivered Business Beyond Borders:UK, a thought provoking and practical guide to doing business in the UK, listening to the success stories and learning how to manage all aspects of such a journey.
As part of the day, British Ambassador to Ireland, Kara Owen, addressed the gathering, expressing delight at her earlier tour of the town from Brendan Matthews and delighted to see such spirit in the region. “It’s a nation of super connectors,” she added.
The chamber sat down with her and members of the embassy team and explained the role of Drogheda, the chamber and our stakeholders in industry and opened discussion about future visits and collaboration.
Lisburn, Hampshire and West and North Yorkshire chamber are links established in recent years, the bonds incredible, from the Star and Crescent at every corner in Portsmouth and Drogheda to the Bronte Sisters of West Yorkshire and their Boyneside roots.
Drogheda and the Boyne Valley is a source of the finest produce and locations and we proudly handed over samples. World renowned WaterWipes, to McCloskey’s Cottage Brown, Boyne Valley honey, Deep Sea salt magnesium, thanks to Oriel in Clogherhead, Boann’s finest whiskey, Newgrange Gold and the incredible Bakehouse cookies, produced on the Donore Road. We could have produced many more, but the bag was getting a bit heavy by that stage!
We want this historic area, the scene of the Battle of the Boyne and home to Newgrange, to be at the centre of historic tourism offerings and if ever a North-South meeting is in need of an idyllic setting, the likes of Bettystown House awaits!
New UK friends and allies in our constant desire to see this region reach its full potential have been made and more great stories will be written in the months to come.
To our colleagues in the Mill Enterprise Hub, continue to deliver at the highest level for business in this region.
