Local Fine Gael TD, Fergus O’Dowd, has received welcome confirmation that a Community Vaccination Centre has been secured for Drogheda and will be located at the Drogheda Institute of Further Education.
O’Dowd said “This is really positive news and comes on the back of a significant campaign to ensure the residents of Drogheda would not have to travel outside of the town for their vaccinations.
“I have been liaising with the HSE officials responsible for this area on a daily basis over the last number of months and have submitted a number of sites for consideration including the DIFE location.
“DIFE has already shown itself to be an ideal location and has worked very effectively as the OLOL Local Vaccination Hub which catered for the very high risk cohorts and staff of the hospital.
“Local residents will have access to the Drogheda site in the coming days, the portal will direct residents based on the Eircode they input on the portal.
