DART+ Coastal North Project - EIA Scoping Report on behalf of Iarnród Éireann
The various options along the project route to deliver the project requirements for enabling an increase in rail capacity and extending the existing electrification of the Northern Line have been assessed, which will lead to the identification of a Preferred Option for the DART+ Coastal North project which will be the subject of a Railway Order (RO) application in due course.
Arup will develop an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) which will accompany the RO application to An Bord Pleanála. We are seeking your input on the information to be contained in an EIAR and the methodologies to be used in gathering and assessing that information. To inform consultations on this matter, an EIA Scoping Report has been prepared and is included as an attachment with this correspondence for your consideration.
• We would welcome written views and opinions from your organisation with regard to the information and methodologies proposed to be included in the EIAR.
This consultation process for EIA Scoping will commence on 06th March 2023 and continue for a 6-week period, concluding on 18th April 2023.
Iarnród Éireann will be commencing a second round of non-statutory consultations for the DART+ Coastal North project (Public Consultation No.2) in the coming weeks. The purpose of this non-statutory consultation is to inform and update residents, businesses, property owners, prescribed bodies, and the general public about this Preferred Option. Details of Public Consultation No.2 can be accessed on the dedicated project website www.DARTplus.ie
We would welcome the opportunity to engage with you to ensure that your interests and concerns are addressed during the consultation and design development process. All feedback can be submitted up to 18th April 2023 to DARTCoastalNorth@irishrail.ie. and should be marked ‘DART+ Coastal North EIA Scoping’.
Thank you for your valued input,
Yours sincerely,
Christopher Bradish
