On Thursday, October 1, 2026, Drogheda United will face Trabzonspor at Papara Park in Trabzon, in a match that marks the historic bond between Drogheda and Türkiye and the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Ireland and Türkiye.
Drogheda & District Chamber is working closely with the two clubs to use the trip as a platform to build relationships between the Drogheda and Trabzon/Turkish business communities.
Chamber members and football fans are invited to be part of the historic journey that will also feature in a special documentary. For those travelling, it will be an opportunity to spend time together, strengthen relationships and explore potential new business connections in Türkiye.
An official launch breakfast takes place in Sullivan & Lambe Park on Monday, 7 September from 9.30am to 10.30am.
The morning will bring together club partners, members of the business community and invited guests to share more about the story behind the fixture, the documentary and plans to build lasting
