A new relationship and bond with Argentina has begun following a meeting between Drogheda and District Chamber and ambassador Ana Laura Cachaza and Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Nicolas Vidal.

Hosted both in the chamber office and the Fair Street offices of Louth County Council, with Deputy Mayor, Declan Power and Olivia McCormack, Senior Executive Officer , Economic Development & Tourism, the visit served as a perfect introduction to Drogheda and the strength of the M1 Corridor as a place for international industry and commerce.
The ambassador was given a tour of Drogheda from both a cultural and business viewpoint, and was delighted to learn about the role of Queensboro man, Thomas Charles Wright, who helped in the fight for South American Independence
From the story of the Bronte sisters to John Boyle O’Reilly and Francis Ledwidge to St Oliver Plunkett, they got an appreciation of what the Boyne Valley is all about.
Aoife Ruane and the team in the Highlanes Gallery gave a guided tour of the jewel in the crown when it comes to art locally.
The party left laden down with facts and figures about the chamber and its members, from WaterWipes and the Boyne Valley Group, Suretank, the ECO offshore wind group, the new IDA Park and Visit Louth to Bettystown House, the Cottages and lots more.
Chamber member, Argentinian born, Sabrina Basante CEO of 2U Digital, also attended, having provided invaluable assistance in arranging the visit.
