We’redelighted to invite you to join a virtual round-table next week on the 20 May,from 2pm-4pm, which will feature discussions on best practice in supporting ourtown and city centres in the post-pandemic re-opening.
This webinar will be an opportunity to share good ideas, profile best practice andtalk about what local economies will need in the coming weeks and months. We’llalso look to the longer term, and what the SDGs means for local economies. Inparticular, how we can work towards the Goal of Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The RoundTable will be a two hour session, with two panels.
The first focusing on Sustainable Urban Spaces and Supporting Local Economies. Panellistsinclude Mags Downey Martin (CEO of Ballina Chamber) to talk about theirGreening Ballina work, Marian O'Donnell (Media and Public Affair Manager atDublin Chamber) on their 15 Minute Cities research and Sharon O Gara (RIAI) speaking about her work as an architect with Kildare County Council and local projects to support towns and villages. The session will be moderated by Ken Tobin, CEO of Tralee Chamber.
The second session will be on Using Culture and Age Friendly Design to Support SustainableTowns and Cities. Panellists include Margaret O'Brien (CEO of Ennis Chamber)who will talk about the work in Ennis and their recent “Drain Art” Project,Aaron Copeland (Creative Director at A Playful City) on their work to promote age-friendly design, Paul McGuirk (Head of Enterprise at LEO Cork City) to talk about Cork City Council’s Place-making Fund. Kenny Deery (CEO of Galway Chamber) will moderate the session and bring the perspective of Galway, as outgoing European city of Culture.
