FURTHER collaboration and discussions are to take place between Drogheda and District Chamber and the Chinese city of Zigong following an historic first meeting in Drogheda.

Famous for its Lantern Festival, Dinosaur Museum and the salt production industry, the city is located in southern Sichuan.
The Chinese visitors said they had visited many countries, but their experience of Drogheda was unique in respect of the short, mid and long term planning objectives that were set out as part of the chamber presentation.
They now want to discuss future projects when it comes to engaging with local firms, with emphasis on ceramics, whiskey and other produce and also with respect to property development.
The visiting party said they had been made aware of Drogheda’s vast potential through international contacts and they came to the town to learn more about what it has to offer.
“We feel the delight and passion that’s here, especially in education and the environment,” they added. Shen Caisong from the Zigong Capital Investment Group and Zhou Zhongmin from the Dinosaur Culture Tourism company formed the official party.
They arrived in Drogheda having spent time in Cambridge in the UK.
They engaged with the chamber as it acts as a conduit between business and government bodies.
Chamber Council members, Jasmine Mathew and Ronan Whitty, spoke about the great community and business culture that exists in the town.
