Artist exhibit at Beaulieu House during the Louth Plein Air Art Festival last weekend
Droghed Chamber we delighted to one of the sponsors of the Louth Air Art Festival last weekend.
On Saturday16th July, a total of 37 artists arrived with their easels, canvases, paints supplies etc and painted out around Carlingford village, harbour and marina - with an end of day display of their art on their easels on the green area.organised by local artist, Leonora Reilly.
Sunday 17th July, 47 artists attended Beaulieu House & Gardens along the River Boyne outside Drogheda – the location of the 1st Louth Plein Air Art Festival. What a magnificent setting for the artists with lots of potential compositions to choose from –the stately home, walled gardens, woods, the church and graveyard. A totally different private experience was had in Beaulieu with some visitors, family andfriends arriving in the afternoon.

Winners: Joan Moroney, Dave West (organiser, Leonora Reilly) and Nataliia Yakymets
The Louth Plein Air Art Festival could become an annual event in artists’ calendars if the positive feed back and praise for organising the two days was anything to go by. Artists travelled from Newry, Co Mayo and Co Roscommon to take part in the two days. Some artists are now keen to keep the momentum going for longer and are planning a monthly meet-up, with no obligation to attend, so they can paint plein air in other local locations.
