Drogheda Chamber Member Spotlight - Woolworks
Q. Tell us about your business and what you do.
We opened in October 2019 firstly selling wool, fabrics, and haberdashery. When Covid first hit we started making masks and uniforms for hospital staff. We donated a lot of masks and uniforms. We were a base for Masks for Louth. We expanded the business in November 2021 going into alterations which has been a great success. Then in March 2022 we opened a printing department, printing t-shirts, hoodies, mugs etc. We have done a lot of work for Drogheda Boys,Drogheda UTD, and other football clubs. We also do classes in Knitting, Crochet, Macrame, Hand Quilting. We will also be starting Embroidery in the next few weeks.
Q. What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
I feel our biggest achievement is bringing the community closer together and making the public smile. We have people walking in the door saying how nice our window display is and how it makes them happy as its such an impact to West Street. Customers come in make a purchase and have a chat sometimes with a cup of tea or a cup of soup. Children are encouraging their parents to come down and see our new window display.
Q. Tell us one thing people might not know about the business.
Some people don’t know that we do alterations or printing.
Q. What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t underestimate what you can do.
