Members of the European Transport and Tourism group met with MEPs, local authority leaders and other stakeholders as part of a fact-finding mission to the region.
A number of issues were raised, including the advancement of Bremore Port, a project deeply aligned to the progression of our Chamber member, Drogheda Port.
Well done to Emma Gill who delivered a great Discover Boyne Valley presentation, highlighting the region and everything from Halloween and the Lu Festival of Light to the new national park at Dowth, Boyne Valley Flavours, the wonderful East Meath coastline, the Fingal to Drogheda greenway and other opportunities.
We'll always put the case forward for collaboration and when it comes to Drogheda, the asks are pretty clear. Certainty when it comes to electricity and water supply to allow the development of North Drogheda to its full potential - and a new 20,000 population. The completion of the Northern Cross Route and a new train station will transform this region that stands within the M1 Corridor and must be delivered as part of the key elements of the new NDP.
Drogheda's potential is massive, from tourism to offshore wind, we can be a model of sustainable living that Europe should embrace and help deliver.
The wider M1 area has so much to offer, including Ardee NEST to Dunleer's IDA Park, Duleek Business Park, City North and Tenure Business Park, the companies there leading the way when it comes to delivery and excellence on an international scale.
