As part of our Membership Spotlight feature we recently spoke to Alison Quinlan from Namaste House Yoga about doing business in the area. Read what Alison had to say.
Q. Tell us about your business and what you do.
Namaste House Yoga isn't just somewhere you come to stretch or exercise; it's somewhere you come to reconnect.
For the past six years, we've been building a warm, welcoming community where people of every age, body and background can experience authentic yoga in a way that feels accessible and genuinely life-changing. From complete beginners finding confidence for the first time, to experienced practitioners, teacher training, pilates, sound journeys, philosophy courses and international retreats, we're passionate about helping people discover that yoga is something you live, not just something you do.
Every class begins with the same simple intention: we want you to leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Q. What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
Without question, it's the community.
Awards are wonderful, and business growth is something we're proud of, but the real achievement is creating a space where people feel they belong.
We've watched friendships form, confidence return after illness, students become teachers, people recover from grief, celebrate milestones and even meet life partners. Some of our members have been with us since we opened our doors.
That's success to us.
Q. Tell us one thing people might not know about the business.
People often assume yoga studios are intimidating or only for flexible people.
In reality, our oldest students are in their eighties, and many of the people who walk through our doors convinced they're "not a yoga person" usually discover they were exactly the kind of person yoga was waiting for.
Q. What is the best piece of business advice you've ever been given?
Build a community.
Businesses spend a lot of energy trying to find the next client. We've found that when you genuinely care for the people already in your space, they become your greatest ambassadors.
Word of mouth has built Namaste House far more than advertising ever has, and we're incredibly grateful for every recommendation that's brought someone through our door.
See you at the next event,
