The glitz, the glamour, the energy……… what a night it was at the Northeast Business Awards at a packed City North Hotel on Saturday.

80 finalists battled it out for the gongs, covering a myriad of categories, from young and blossoming entrepreneurs to established business leaders, who have been the heart and soul of the region for years.
With awards voted by the public and selected by a panel of independent judges – the night was a spectacular celebration of everything positive about the growing region.
Presented in association with premier sponsor, Flogas, the hard-working judges were delighted with the standard of the entries and had a hard time selecting the winners. Many were first time winners, showing how vibrant the growing chamber has become in the Northeast.
“These awards are special as they reward excellence and recognise the efforts people put in on a daily basis in their own sector. These awards are very much part of our ethos of recognising and rewarding local business and the great thing is that there is such a variety to choose from. The town is blessed to have such individuals and firms as part of our growing community,” Chamber CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.
He thanked all the sponsors who have shown such wonderful support down the years to the awards, the judges, the public for voting and the many, many businesses who took the time to enter.
"The awards take months of planning, and the Chamber staff deliver time and time again. A real team effort makes this night what it is,” he added.
Shona McManus from Osborne Recruitment won the Outstanding Achievement in Business award, presented by David Vickers from Flogas. The company is now a recognised global brand, and Shona has proven to be an outstanding leader, both in the boardroom and across the community sector.
