DROGHEDA and District Chamber has described the opening of the first phase of the PANCR as a game changer in how the town now plans for the future.

Millions have been spent so far on the road that will eventually run from Rosehall roundabout to the port. The next phase will see works begin on the Termonfeckin Road and work back towards the main Dublin-Belfast rail line.
"This road has been planned for more than two decades and it's great to see this first phase up and running. It will ease access to key areas on the northside and open up lands for housing stock. This puts Drogheda on the road to becoming a central player on the east coast of Ireland," Chamber President Hubert Murphy stated.
"We want big business to make Drogheda their home over the next decade and having homes available is paramount. The next year is going to be significant and as a chamber we will be playing our part in the increasing success story that Drogheda is becoming."
He praised those behind making the road a reality, including Joan Martin and her expert team in the local authority, the Irish Strategic Investment Fund, HiISCo, Clonmel Enterprises, Lorcan Greenan and his great crew at Ballymakenny Enterprises and Joe O'Reilly and all at Castlethorn. Valuable support also came from a variety of stakeholders, from utilities to lenders.
"Joe, speaking at the launch on Monday, said this was a 'can do' development by so many people and it shows what can be achieved. when everyone pulls together,' the president added.
