Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Louth County Council proposes to make a Variation (Variation No. 2) of the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021.
Reason: The reason for this Variation is to facilitate the upgrade of the N2 single carriageway National Primary Road from north of Ardee (County Louth) to the roundabout at Tullyvin south of Castleblaney (County Monaghan).
The proposed draft Variation No. 2 of the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021 comprises the inclusion of new inserted text within Table 7.7 “Motorways and National Routes” (Chapter 7 Transport) and the insertion of a new Policy TC 20A (Chapter 7 Transport) and is accompanied by a revised Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening Report and associated SEA Screening Determination, to reflect all submissions from prescribed bodies, prepared in accordance with the Planning & Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 (as amended). The proposed Variation No. 2 is also accompanied by an Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report and associated AA Screening Determination prepared as part of a Screening for AA process that is being undertaken in accordance with Part XAB of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended).
A copy of the proposed draft Variation No. 2 of the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021 (and associated SEA and AA Screening documents) will be available for inspection at the following locations:

Making a Submission/Observation
- Note: All submissions/observations made to date are still valid and will be considered, following the new public consultation phase. There is no requirement to re-submit/make a new submission/observation unless you wish to alter the content on foot of the revised SEA screening document
Written submissions or observations with respect to proposed Draft Variation No. 2 of the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021 (and associated SEA and AA Screening documents), may be made to Louth County Council from Tuesday 24th March, 2020 until 4pm on Monday 27th April, 2020.
Such submissions and observations must state the name of the person or relevant body / agency making it and should be clearly marked “Draft Variation No. 2 of the Louth County Development Plan 2015-2021” addressed to Frank Pentony, Louth County Council, Forward Planning Section, Town Hall, Crowe Street, Dundalk, Co Louth.
