As part of our Membership Spotlight feature we recently spoke to Agne Guste & Jurgita Pakste from Sensory Space Therapy Centre about doing business in Drogheda .Read what they had to say.
Q. Tell us about your business and what you do.
Sensory Space Therapy Centre wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from a purpose.
As parents ourselves and professionals working with families, we experienced first-hand how difficult it could be to access timely, joined-up support. Families were often left navigating long waiting lists, fragmented services and repeating their stories to multiple professionals. We believed there had to be a better way.
So, in February 2020, we opened Sensory Space Therapy Centre with a simple vision: to create a multidisciplinary wellbeing centre where people feel heard, understood and supported from the moment they walk through our doors.
While we originally specialised in supporting children with additional needs and their families, the past six years have taught us something incredibly important.
Children don't grow in isolation. They grow within families, relationships and communities.
Today, Sensory Space Therapy Centre supports babies, children, teenagers, adults and older adults. Some adults come to us because they're parents looking for guidance and support. Others have no children at all. They may be navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, stress, life transitions or simply the pressures of modern life.
Our philosophy is simple: everyone deserves support, regardless of their age, diagnosis or life circumstances.
We don't just support children. We support people.
Q. What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
Without hesitation, it's the trust our community has placed in us.
Since opening in 2020, we've had the privilege of supporting more than 2,000 children, adults and families across the Ireland. Knowing that so many people have chosen to trust us during some of the most important and often most challenging moments in their lives is something we never take for granted.
Since expanding into adult services in 2022, that impact has continued to grow year on year. Today we support around four thousand therapeutic interventions annually.
There's a part of our work we don't often talk about publicly, but it means as much to us as anything else we do. We work alongside local schools, businesses, and community organisations who share our belief that wellbeing shouldn't be a privilege.
We support families referred to us through refugee support services navigating trauma, or other life challenges.
We work with residents in residential care settings, many of whom have been overlooked for years simply because their needs didn't fit neatly into an existing service.
For us, that's what community really means.
Not just showing up when it's convenient — but showing up for the people who are hardest to reach.
Quietly, it's one of the achievements we're proudest of. Those are the moments that remind us why Sensory Space Therapy Centre exists.
Q. Tell us one thing people might not know about the business.
One of the biggest misconceptions about Sensory Space Therapy Centre is that we're only for children with complex additional needs. We're incredibly proud that many families trust us with autism, ADHD and other developmental differences, but that's only one part of who we are.
We believe support shouldn't begin only when life becomes overwhelming. Sometimes a few sessions at the right time can prevent years of unnecessary struggle.
Our philosophy has evolved through years of professional experience, but equally through our personal journeys as parents. It has taught us that behind every diagnosis, every referral is simply a person looking for understanding, guidance and hope.
That's who we see first.
What may also surprise people is how far our Education Centre has grown. What began as workshops for parents, schools, local business has expanded well beyond Drogheda — we now support teachers, schools and professionals internationally, and work alongside other organisations to share what we've learned along the way.
Q. What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice wasn't something someone told us. It was something our clients taught us. Listen.
When you genuinely listen to people, they'll tell you what they need. That's exactly how Sensory Space Therapy Centre has evolved over the years, supporting all ages.
When we opened our doors, we imagined ourselves as a children's therapy centre. However, working with many families every year changed our perspective. We also learned that supporting a child often begins with supporting the people around them. When parents feel stronger, calmer and more confident, the whole family benefits. That naturally transformed Sensory Space Therapy Centre into a whole-person, whole-family wellbeing centre for everyone.
