Drogheda and District Chamber and Flogas have partnered to launch the 2025 ‘Sporting Heroes’ awards.

The new initiative aims to recognise sports people across all sectors who have demonstrated the key ingredients that makes up a sporting hero, from hard work and perseverance to showing dedicated leadership, be it a rising star who acts as a great role model to a seasoned campaigner, who has provided the inspiration for others to follow.
Club volunteers, trainers, officials will also be considered for these awards, people who have made an impact on our community in their own way as that’s the sign of a true sporting hero.
Promoting positive mental and physical health and encouraging active participation in local clubs and organisations is so important across society. It is hoped these awards will inspire another generation of sporting gems.
As part of their continued support of Team Ireland for the next Olympics in 2028, the Flogas Performance Programme provides support for training, coaching, and sports science. They also help prepare athletes for life after their competitive career, be that training in new skills or educational grants.
