As part of our Membership Spotlight feature we recently spoke to Mark McCormack from Create The Great In You about doing business in the Region.
. Tell us about your business and what you do?
Response: Create the Great in You is a personal and professional development consultancy which was established in 2017. Mark McCormack built the company after returning to Dundalk Institute of Technology in 2011. He graduated in 2015 and won the presidents award for his contribution to the community and college we serve. He presented a research paper which was represented in Milan at the European Sociological Education Conference by Dr Bernadette Brereton of Dundalk Institute of Technology. Mark built his company out of his passion and desire to empower, inspire and motivate people. He founded the company which is now fully operational in the businesses, education, community and sports sector.
Our aim is to build resilience, develop interpersonal skills and enhance the overall wellbeing of your team at an individual or group level.

Q. What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
Response: Creating a platform for people built on trust and respect for each other is crucial. Winning a National Award with Tusla for Investing in our young people. Also been invited as a Keynote Speaker on the topic of Resilience at the 3 Arena stage in 2019 with acts such as Hozier has been amazing for the development of the company brand and ethos.
Q. Tell us one thing people might not know about the business?
Response: Our goal is to promote positive mental health using coaching and mentoring techniques. The brand is getting stronger because people who work alongside our approach have stated they start to feel stronger, make better decisions, communicate more effectively and this has a positive impact on their teams productivity.

Q. What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
Response: "The day we stop learning is the day we start to stop". Be prepared to be wrong. Hold yourself accountable and learn from the people around you. Once you can do this then hold your head high.
