Drogheda and the M1 Corridor and the region of West and North Yorkshire have formed a new alliance that is set to boost friendships and trade in the coming years.
Initial meetings turned into an historic first trade mission to the Boyneside last week, with firms from a number of sectors, including finance, manufacturing and hospitality, all coming to see what this region has to offer.
“Networking and collaboration is vital as we build bridges across regions and West and North Yorkshire is one of those partners we are delighted to have on board,” chamber CEO, Hubert Murphy stated.
The region includes the likes of Leeds, Bradford and York and as part of the day, many local businesses within the chamber set up met with counterparts and some new alliances were forged.
Chamber President Miriam Simon said international relationships opened up the area to new horizons and opportunities, and the Chamber had to be to the forefront in that.
West and North Yorkshire Chamber CEO, James Mason, expressed his satisfaction at the visit and said he hopes to see members of Drogheda Chamber in Yorkshire for a return visit in 2027.
There were visits to a number of locations around the town, including key cultural and tourism attractions.
The event began with a gathering at The Mill Enterprise Hub.
M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet hosted a gathering of industry leaders at Scholars Hotel, aimed at highlighting the need for upskilling and training across sectors and the role that Skillnet can play in that.
