The role of Drogheda as the hub of future economic excellence in the North East is something Drogheda and District Chamber is keen to see progressed.
"We were delighted to be part of Amazon's 20 year celebrations event and as an ambitious chamber, we share the company's passion for doing business and planning for a broad, bright future," Chamber CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.
"It was great to hear Dublin Lord Mayor, James Geoghegan, name check Drogheda as a centre that hosts Amazon services, while Neil Morris, AWS Country Lead, thanked local firm, Hanley Energy, for their great support down the years," he added.
Part of the East Coast Offshore group (ECO) in recent years, the Chamber is aware of the huge opportunity that's out there to harness wind to help power big business.
"Mr Morris spoke about the need to "get the delivery of offshore wind right" and we couldn't agree more. This has to be topping the agenda at all levels of government otherwise the North East stands to lose out significantly."
Addressing the role of Amazon locally, the CEO remarked, "AWS has worked closely with the multi award winning DIFE facility on delivering groundbreaking courses in recent years.
"That's the type of engagement that changes lives and is at the heart of what Amazon does. David McDonnell and his amazing team in DIFE deserve so much credit for their efforts in this regard," he remarked.
