It’s now time to send your letter of support (submission) for the Drogheda BIDS initiative to the Local Authority for consideration. The deadline is fast approaching (30th May) so do show your support before its too late!
What is BIDS?
The purpose of a BID is to enable the ratepayers in Drogheda (within the boundaries of the proposed BID) to come up with and develop a number of projects, services and works to improve Drogheda. (This is in addition to the services provided by Louth County Council)
Drogheda & District Chamber is a collaborative partner and will work with BIDS on a number of projects including the Westend Gate plan, Purple Flag, developing tourism, a town centre co-working space, and a co-ordinated economic development plan.
Our 4 key pillars of support are:
- Jobs / Enterprise/ Technology projects
- Tourism & Lifestyle
- Retail & Town Centre Projects
- Environmental Projects
How will BIDs help Drogheda?
Drogheda has experienced massive growth over the past number of years and BIDS will enable Drogheda to have greater control over how we develop in the coming years.
BIDS has a proven track record across UK and in Ireland- Dundalk, Sligo, Dublin, and Sandyford have already successfully implemented BIDS to a high standard for the benefit of the local community.
How you can show your Support?
Your voice and your views matter. As part of the BIDS process, members of the community are asked write a letter (submission) to Louth County Council voicing your support of the initiative.
Your letter of support (minimum 100 words) should outline your views and include why you think implementing a BIDs scheme in Drogheda is a good idea. It can be as detailed or as brief as you wish. Remember it’s your voice and your view!
