Chambers Ireland noted with sadness the death of former President George Eaton

Speaking today (20 July) Chambers Ireland Chief Executive Ian Talbot said,

“We were very sad to hear of the death of our former President George Eaton. Mr Eaton was President of this organisation between 1985 and 1987 at an extraordinarily difficult time for the Irish economy.
A prominent member of Athlone Chamber, he was also truly visionary in his international outlook, seeing the opportunity for the development of the Irish economy in European markets, particularly Portugal and Hungary, where he respectively led the Portuguese Irish Chamber and was Hungary’s Irish Honorary Consul.

Our sympathies lie with his family at this difficult time.”
