You know someone has made a big impression when you listen to them talk from the heart about their sole aim of saving lives – and shortly afterwards, are immensely proud when they are presented with an award. Ciara Mohan Gustafson became the latest recipient of a Drogheda and District Chamber/BD ‘Community Champion’ award for simply being - Ciara Mohan Gustafson – truly, one of a kind.

Ciara, a patient advocate for Lobular Breast Cancer, is a survivor, and spreads the message of hope, resilience, courage and awareness right around the world.
From Drogheda and living in Michigan, Ciara spoke at World Lobular Breast Cancer Day at Millmount in her hometown two weeks ago. Her raw determination and knowledge were inspiring. She wasn’t going to return to the United States without an honour, hopefully something that will further her cause on the international stage.
When the opportunity arises to make a difference, take it. When the chance comes to honour a wonderful person, don’t let it pass.
Well done Ciara and always know a town and its people back you all the way.
Our thanks to BD for their support for this awards scheme.
