As part of our Membership Spotlight feature we recently spoke Chris Searles from
EMS Environmental Monitoring Systems about doing business in the region.
Q1:Tell us about your business and what you do?
EMS Environmental Monitoring Systems Ltd was formed in 1998 to offer Environmental
and Safety professionals’ instrumentation to allow them to comply with the relevant regulations. Website www.emsys.ie
Q2: What do you think has been your biggest achievement?
Since the company was formed, we have become the preferred supplier to many of Ireland’s leading companies and government depts.
EMS was chosen to supplier all particulate monitors in the Irish national Air Quality network.

Q3: Tell us one thing people might not know about the business?
During the Covid lockdown all staff members worked remotely, due to the success of
this remote working the company closed the Dublin office andsupplied all staff with home offices/workshops/stores. On average this is saving travel (per staff member) of 15,000KM per year to and from the office plus fuel costs. After two years of remote working the outlay for the home offices has been re-couped.
Q4: What is the best piece of business advise you have been given?
Ask how you can help. By asking others how you can help them it will show you
genuinely care.
