Members Spotlight - Aphix Software

broken image

We recently got to talk with Graham O'Rourke from Aphix software and we were asking him about doing Business in Drogheda?

Where did the idea come from?

When I was the MD for MOR Digital (www.mordigital.ie) I saw how difficult and complex B2B eCommerce was to implement. This is especially true for large wholesale/distribution companies where they have complex pricing, stock and catalogue information. I also realised that the only way to solve those issues was to integrate with the companies ERP (stock & finance system). Our first customer was Doyle’s Wholesale in Kilkenny and we now have almost 250 Customers and 15 partners across 8 countries.

How has the business had a positive impact on Drogheda?
We now have a team of 18 in Drogheda and 1 team member in Manchester. We’re very proud to be a Tech company supporting high-value jobs such as programmers, consultants, technical support and sales & marketing here at The Mill, Drogheda’s Enterprise & Tech Hub.

We have had a very positive year of growth and we are continuing to invest in multiple departments within Aphix. As a result of our fast pace growth we are delighted to announce that we are currently seeking to hire for the roles outlined below and more jobs will be created along the way.

Senior PHP Developer

Experienced React/ JavaScript Developer

Front End Web Developer

Scrum Master

Product Manager

What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
Recently we were named as one of the Top 10 eCommerce provides in the UK by CIO magazine (read article).

We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the top eCommerce providers in the UK for 2019. It shows the progress we have made and is extremely well deserved for all of the hard work and dedication our team has shown over the past 5 years. Our success proves that many businesses in the digital age now want to have multiple sales channels. The purpose of the Aphix platform (as a truly omnichannel solution) is to bring all of those channels together in one place. We are excited by what the future holds, staying ahead of the technology curve and to welcoming many more customers on to the Aphix platform in the coming years

What’s next for Aphix and the business in Drogheda?
We are focusing on really maximising our market share in the UK & Ireland while looking to enter the North American market in the next 12 months

Tell us one thing people might not know about the business
That we hire highly skilled software staff right here in Drogheda... and we are looking for more!

What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
Someone reminded me recently that “we are the experts” in our own business. While that seems obvious; we are all caught in the day to day and so we can forget to take credit for our achievements, our skills & how transformative our products and services can be. That advice encouraged me to be even more confident that we are the experts in B2B eCommerce and our products transform how our customers grow their business and reduce costs.
