As part of our Membership Spotlight feature we recently spoke to Noel Carr from NVM Limited
about doing business in Drogheda.
Q. Tell us about your business and what you do.
NVM Limited are an environmental monitoring company providing service, site management, consultation, and sales of monitoring instrumentation to government agencies, pharmaceutical local authorities and the construction sector. Established in 2004 NVM have celebrated 20 yrs of providing Irish Industries with Management Solutions on Air Quality, Water management , Environmental and Occupational Monitoring.
Q. What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
With hard work and placement, we have been successful with rolling contracts and frameworks with government agencies since 2017 which has allowed NVM to continually build on our successes however large or small. Each job won is another project to be proud of and we have managed to build a fleet of hire instrumentation and service vehicles that are used on projects nationwide from our Drogheda base to meet our customers’ requirements.
Q. Tell us one thing people might not know about the business.
NVM are local business to Drogheda and employ 15 local people. We undertake the water management and service for the Marine Institutes Tidal Gauge Network which reports data from Ireland to our European partners on tidal management. We are the Instrumentation & Service Channel Partner for Ireland and Northern Ireland for The German Manufacturer OTT Hydromet and provide monitoring instrumentation and support which is used by almost every government agency across Ireland.
Q. What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
“Have people work with you and not for you”, it’s all about our team, we have a fantastic group of people working at NVM and we have built a strong community within our workplace that allows us to grow our knowledge base through the business resulting in a multidisciplinary team which can adapt to clients’ needs and expectations.
