As part of our Membership Spotlight feature we recently spoke to Mick Fanning from Physio Performance about doing business in Drogheda. Read what Mick had to say.
Q1Tell us about your business and what you do?
At Physio Performance, we’re all about helping people move better, recover stronger, and perform at their peak — whether they’re elite athletes, weekend warriors, or someone just getting back on their feet after injury.
Based right here in Drogheda, we offer tailored physiotherapy, sports rehab, injury prevention programs, and 1:1 Private Personal Training. We don’t just treat symptoms; we dig into the "WHY" behind pain or limitations and empower our clients with practical plans to own their health long-term.
Whether you're rehabbing an injury, training for a marathon, or a busy professional battling desk-related aches — we’ll get you moving & performing confidently again.
Q2. What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
"Building an amazing team and a space where people genuinely trust us to guide their health journey. We’ve had clients return to professional sport after career-threatening injuries, others conquer chronic pain that’s plagued them for years, and local teams rely on us season after season. But the real achievement? Hearing a client say, ‘You’ve given me my life back.’ That’s the fuel for everything we do.
Q3. Tell us one thing people might not know about the business.
Most people assume we only focus on physiotherapy, but we’re also leaders in 1:1 private personal training, blending rehab with performance to create fully customised strength programs.
Plus, we invest in elite-level tech most clinics don’t offer — like VALD ForceDecks for precision force analysis, DynaMo Plus dynamometry for strength testing, Hamstring HRIG machine for injury-risk screening, and Shockwave Therapy for accelerated tissue healing. This is elite sports team technology — now accessible to everyone right here in Drogheda.
Q4. What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
"‘Listen more than you speak.’ Early on, a mentor told me: ‘Your clients will tell you exactly what they need — if you shut up and hear them.’
It’s true in physio and in business. Whether it’s a patient describing their pain or a local coach explaining their team’s demands, listening builds trust and reveals opportunities you’d otherwise miss. That’s how we’ve grown — by adapting to our community’s needs, not just pushing a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution."
