Seapoint golf links will again welcome some of the greatest players in the world for the Legends Tour, taking place at the Termonfeckin venue from 19th – 22nd June 2024.
The Legends Tour is the official tour for players over 50. Part of the PGA European Tour alongside the DP World Tour and European Challenge Tour, it offers the chance for amateurs and celebrities to play alongside the professionals in a live tournament.
This year, international payments company OFX, are the title sponsors.
There is increased prize money of up to €400,000 up for grabs and the Legends ambassador Paul McGinley, speaking at the launch at Seapoint, said "Americans will be licking their lips when they see this place", such is the popularity of links courses at the moment.
He said the Carr family had made a wise move when investing in Seapoint.
"The need for quality sporting venues and investment in the Drogheda region is never more important with the growth in population," Drogheda and District Chamber President Hubert Murphy stated. "We want to see events like this on our doorstep and open up the location to people from all over the world."
