        The newly appointed Chamber Council for 2025/26 are Miriam Simon (President), Breanndán Casey (Secretary), Paul Berrill (Treasurer), Robert Murray, ,

        Collette Farrell, Michael Gerrard, William Johnston, Jasmine Mathew, Elizabeth Daisyspring, David Walsh, Ronan Whitty, Robert Doran, Declan Cassidy and Lyndsey Kenny.

        Miriam Simon, President
        Miriam Simon is the new President of Drogheda and District Chamber, having been elected at the 131st AGM of the association.

        She brings a wealth of knowledge as a business strategistand leader with more than three decades of commercial experience at the highest levels of retail and corporate advisory. She has built a formidable reputation for translating complex strategy and consumer trends into actionable, results-driven plans that deliver sustainable growth across organisations. Miriam’s career includes senior and board-level leadership in major international retail brands, where she led trading strategy, operational excellence, and commercial transformation. These roles span globally recognised names such as TK Maxx, Monsoon Accessorize, Life Style Sports and B&Q, giving her deep expertise in scaling performance, navigating market disruption, and exceeding customer expectations.
        She is a qualified and accredited executive coach and a member of the Institute of Directors and supports innovation and enterprise through mentoring roles, including evaluation for the European Innovation Council.
        Committed to supporting small and medium enterprises, Miriam founded The Retail Powerhouse, a dynamic platform offering practical trading insights,
        masterclasses and community support that empowers independent retailers to compete and thrive in shifting markets.

        Breanndán Casey, Secretary

        Connected Health & Well-Being’ Cluster, DKIT

        Breanndán Casey is the Education and outreach Manager for the newly-established ‘Connected Health & Well-Being’ Cluster which is based at DKIT, and aims to support the creation and expansion of Digital Health companies and services across the North-East region.

        Breanndán has twenty years’ experience in economic development, small business support, development of business Clusters, and until recently, was the Innovation & Enterprise Manager of The Mill Enterprise Hub in Drogheda which supports startups and entrepreneurship in the greater Drogheda region

        Paul Berrill, Chamber Council

        Associate, Berrill Kiernan & Associates

        Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2014 working in a Big 4 Firm where he gained extensive experience across a myriad of different industries, including technology, manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceutical and retail.

        Paul works with and advises businesses of all stages, including those in the growth and maturity stages and has an avid interest in start-up businesses. Paul is passionate about assisting and promoting local trade and enterprise.

        Robert Murray, Chamber Council

        Head of Marketing, First Citizen Finance

        Robert has been working in retail financial services since 1999, when he joined Irish Permanent Finance – subsequently called Permanent tsb Finance after a merger in 2001 and now known as First Citizen Finance following a Management Buy-Out in 2012 by the Senior Management Team of Permanent TSB Finance.

         

        First Citizen Finance provides competitive finance solutions to consumers and non-consumers across the Motor, Agri, SME Equipment and Commercial Real Estate sectors in the Republic of Ireland. Robert works nationally across both the Sales and Marketing divisions of the company, based in Drogheda.

         

        Robert joined Drogheda Chamber in 2009 as a member and has been a Council member since 2017. He served as Chamber President from June 2020 until December 2022.

        Michael Gerrard, Chamber Council

        Communication and Marketing Manager

        Michael has been in the Communication Industry since 1985. He is a well known award winning broadcaster (Radio Romance) and producer.

        Michael is also a freelance journalist who has worked with National and Local newspapers and more recently with RTE.

        He has worked on Communication and Marketing strategies for many businesses including two former

        Dragons Den investors, Gavin Duffy and Eamonn Quinn.

        Collette Farrell, Chamber Council

        Droichead Arts Centre

        Collette Farrell has worked in the artsand cultural sector for many years across several roles. She was General
        Manager and Programming Manager of the City Arts Centre, Dublin; Producer with Calipo Theatre and Picture Company, Drogheda, where she produced award
        winning shows and short films.

        She took up her current role as Director of Droichead Arts Centre in 2017, after spending a year as acting General Manager of Dublin Theatre Festival. Since taking up this role, she has set up several artist and audience initiatives at Droichead; and festivals including the BoyneValley International Film Festival and has co-produced the DRAWDA Mythological Trail with LOVE Drogheda BIDs. She completed a year-long post grad Higher Diploma in Business with Dublin Business school, and is currently in year 2 of an MBA with Trinity College.

        Robert Doran, Chamber Council

        Operations Director at Jack Doran Motors

        Robert joined the family business

        (www.jackdoranmotors.ie) in 2018. Jack Doran Motors is the main Kia and Citroen dealer in Drogheda and was established in 1998. Previously, Robert worked in the FMCG industry for over 20 years in a wide range of commercial roles dealing with some of the most recognisable brands and companies. Robert became a Council member this year.

        Jasmine Mathew, Chamber Council

        Council Member (representing Hands4Unity)

        Dedicated community leader and healthcare professional with a passion for fostering inclusivity and unity.
        Originally from India, Jasmine now calls Drogheda home, where she is an active member of Hands4Unity, a charitable organization committed to breaking down barriers within migrant communities. Alongside her work with Hands4Unity, she sits on the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) for Louth County
        Council, contributing to local growth and well-being initiatives.

        Jasmine also works as a mental health nurse at North Dublin Mental Health Services, where she combines her professional expertise with her compassionate approach to care. Creative by nature, Jasmine enjoys acrylic painting and is known for her approachable and friendly personality, making a lasting and positive impact on
        everyone she meets.

        Ronan Whitty, Chamber Council

        Director of Business, Innovation and Enterprise at the Mill Enterprise Centre Drogheda

        Ronan is the Director of Business, Innovation and Enterprise at the Mill Enterprise Centre in Drogheda. He is a multi-award winner for Entrepreneurship at both a National and World level. Ronan's specialities are in the areas of business strategy, revenue management and profit optimisation.

         

        Prior to joining the Mill, Ronan worked as the Director of Revenue, Pricing and Deal Management for the Mater Private Hospital Network. Ronan has over 15 years' experience in Director and senior Commercial roles across tourism, aviation, telecoms and healthcare and has worked in across the Caribbean and in North Africa.

        Since launching Pet Bliss, Lyndsey has combined her passion foranimal welfare with her innovative mindset, creating immersive shopping experiences for pet lovers across Wicklow, Drogheda, and Dundalk.
